Geography
Vinh Long Province is located 136 km from Ho Chi Minh City and covers an area of 1479.1 km2 . It is located in the center of the Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta) in the region between the Tien and Hau Rivers. It borders Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces to the north and northeast, Can Tho and Soc Trang provinces to the west and southwest, Cha Binh province to the east and southeast, and Dong Thap province to the northwest.

In 2021, the average population of Vinh Long Province is estimated at 1,029,000, ranking 41st among the 63 provinces, with a population density of 674 persons/km2 . Of the total population, urban areas accounted for 233,700, or 22.7%, while rural areas accounted for 795,000, or 77.3%. The male population is 507.0 thousand, or 49.3%, and the female population is 522.0 thousand, or 50.7%.

In 2021, the labor force aged 15 and older is estimated at 584.0 thousand, representing 55.5% of the province’s total population, of which 15.6% of workers are in occupations or training.
